Colorado Postal Encyclopedia - Counties A - C
In this first section of the Encyclopedia, we explore the Colorado counties in alphabetical order, beginning with Adams County. In each county, we examine all of the locations that have or once had a post office. Initially, Colorado was divided into seventeen counties when the state was created on August 1, 1876. Broomfield was the last county created, becoming a city and county on November 15, 2001.
In his research and writings, Bauer chose to list the location description under the final county in which a location was situated. An Adams County example is Simpson, which was originally in Washington County before the creation of Adams County.
The Colorado Postal Encyclopedia includes census data and addenda for many locations, with links located below each county title image.
