Colorado Postal Encyclopedia - Introduction
The Colorado Postal Encyclopedia is the original work of William H. Bauer. The encyclopedia contains descriptions of all locations in Colorado that had, or currently have, a post office. In addition, it includes tracings of known postal markings and records of known usage dates through 1959.
Following Bauer’s untimely death, the final chapters of the printed edition were organized and prepared for publication by Steve Morehead, Roger Rydberg, and Joe Coston.
After completion of the printed edition, Steve Morehead undertook a comprehensive review of the encyclopedia, added new information, and created a digital version.
Roger Rydberg and Joe Ditlow assisted with this effort. Joe Ditlow has continued to compile addenda documenting new discoveries, while Roger Rydberg has made the digital edition available through the Colorado Postal History Society website.
