.....The
Colorado Postal History Society was formed in 1979
by a small group of collectors dedicated to sharing
and preserving their knowledge in all areas of Colorado
Postal History. This group established "The Colorado
Postal Historian" as the organization's official
newsletter with the first issue published in October.
Under the able editorship of Bill Grebe and Robert
Munshower, the society was able to published sixteen
issues.
.....During the annual

and William H. Bauer, one of the authors of "Colorado
Postal History - The Post Offices" published

published in 1989, became editor. Under Mr. Bauer's
editorship, the society has been able to publish four

of the "Colorado Postal Historian".

Postal Encyclopedia", written by William H. Bauer,

and co-author James L. Ozment have traveled the state
to visit and photograph all of the accessible post
offices locations. With a few exceptions, this travel
was completed in May , 2002.
Over 4500 pages have been written to date. Published
counties include: Adams, Alamosa, Arapahoe, Archuleta,
Baca, Bent, Boulder, Chaffee, Cheyenne, Clear Creek,
