McMillin, a railroad post office, was a stop on the Santa Fe Railroad between Lamar and Granada. The post office takes its name from John W. McMillin, a local homesteader and postmaster. The post office name was changed to Toledo and remained in operation until September 16, 1889.
...Significance: This cover was postmarked with the McMillin device after the name change to Toledo and is the only recorded example of a McMillin postal marking.
