Cottonwood Springs was a summer only post office at the mouth of Cottonwood Canyon on Cottonwood Creek six miles west of Buena Vista. The mineral waters of Cottonwood Creek were described as possessing remarkable medicinal qualities for the treatment of a variety of medical conditions.
